The trail first leads along forest roads and through dense woodland before transitioning into steeper alpine meadows and mountain paths. At the summit, a breathtaking 360-degree panorama awaits you, with views of Lake Mondsee, Lake Attersee, and the surrounding Salzkammergut mountains. You can stop for a break at the Schafbergspitze hotel located at the top. Ideal for anyone who enjoys hiking in Mondsee and exploring the Salzkammergut on foot.

This moderately difficult tour is a particularly scenic hike near Mondsee and perfect for those wanting to make their hiking holiday in the Salzkammergut an active experience. It starts at the parking area near the Drachenwand via ferrata in St. Lorenz am Mondsee. The trail leads through forest, past the small Thekla Chapel, and across the Klausenbach stream up to the summit of the Almkogel. From the top, you can enjoy wonderful views of Lake Mondsee and the surrounding Salzkammergut region. Ideal for those planning a hike around Mondsee or an active mountain getaway. The return follows the same route.

This popular hike near Mondsee begins at the Schober & Frauenkopf car park. The trail first leads through the forest to the ruins of Wartenfels – a historic castle ruin that offers both a glimpse into history and a fantastic viewpoint. The hike then continues to the summit of the Schober, where you'll be rewarded with stunning views over the Salzkammergut and its lakes. The transition to the Frauenkopf requires surefootedness, as the path leads over rocky terrain and narrow trails.
